3 Minute Step Test: The firefighter will step up and down on a 12 inch step with the metronome set at 96 bpm/4 count.

Proper Technique/Correct Body Mechanics:__________________ Pain/Fatigue:__________________

Hose Pull: The firefighter will pull a section of 1 ¾ inch hose attached to the low cable with the weight set at 42.5 lbs. The firefighter will be on their knees in an upright position. The firefighter will pull the hose approximately 10 feet then return it to the starting position. This will be done three times.

Equipment Carry: The firefighter will lift two dumbbells, 35 lbs each from a height of 5 feet and place them on the ground one at a time, then picks up both dumbbells in each hand and walks approximately 20 feet. Sets both dumbbells down, picks them up again and walks back to the starting point. The firefighter will complete this four times.

Simulated Ladder Raise: The firefighter will grasp the long handles in each hand, attached to the low cable with the weight set at 12.5 lbs. The firefighter will then raise their hands above their head proceeding to walk forward simulating raising a ladder by using alternating pressing movements. The evaluator will advise the firefighter to stop and walk backward using the same alternating pressing movement. This will be done four times.

Forcible Entry Simulation: Using a bar attached to the cable machine set at a height of approximately waist high with the weight set at 12.5 lbs. The firefighter will simulate hitting a door 10 times on the right side and then the left.

Crawling: The firefighter will crawl on their hands and knees, approximately 20 feet, which will incorporate a 90 degree turn and will include climbing over 2 sets of steps and then crawling back to the starting point.

Hose Advance: The firefighter will hold a nozzle attached to the cable approximately waist high with the weight set at 42.5 lbs. The firefighter will advance forward approximately 10 feet, stop then move to the right approximately 5 feet then to the left approximately 5 feet, then walk backward to the starting point. This will be done three times.

Ceiling Breech and Pull: Ceiling Breech – a metal bar will be attached to a low cable with the weight set at 22.5 lbs the firefighter will simulate breeching the ceiling using a pressing movement. Ceiling Pull – a metal bar will be attached to a high cable with the weight set at 42.5 lbs the firefighter will simulate pulling ceiling. The firefighter will grasp the handle attached to the low cable and simulate breeching the ceiling for 5 repetitions then move to the high cable to simulate pulling ceiling for 5 repetitions. The firefighter will alternate from ceiling breech and ceiling pull until they complete 2 sets of 5 reps for each movement. The firefighter will change hand positions for each set.

Rescue: The firefighter will grasp two handles in each hand attached to the low cable with the weight set at 82.5 lbs. The firefighter holding the handles will walk backward approximately 10 feet. The firefighter will then walk forward keeping the load under control to the starting point. The firefighter will complete this movement four times.L
